Survivor: Palau
Every time I watch this show, I just shake my head in wonder. The contestants often act like they've never seen the show before...they get out to whatever remote location they're assigned to and they seem shocked...shocked I tell you!...that's it not Club Med. (I'm just sayin'... )
This group of "Survivors" seems, at first blush, no better or no worse than any of the previous casts (this is, what, the 10th edition of the show? I've lost track.) The giddy (and annoying) singer and the take-charge woman have, quite predictably, already been given the heave-ho (not sure why that blond guy drew short straw at the first elimination but I guess somebody had to.)
This season (going out on a limb here :-) I predict much whining about being cold, hungry, and living in proximity with rats, sharks, and other critters...many silly stunts...some smoldering sexual tension between hormonal hardbodies...lots of manipulative editing...and in the end, and much to Darwin's dismay, survival of someone who almost definitely will not be the fittest.
Game on.

Well, you can't say that about Wanda (wasn't that her name?) The lady that was gone 10 minutes after they all came ashore.
Funny, she was SO into it, with her Survivor songs and ...POOF... 'see ya'
I love this show...
I wish that Angie would win, because there's never been a punk underdog Sole Survivor before. And, wouldn't it be great to see her doing all those TV spots, instead of another Barbie model contestant? ;^)

What are these people thinking. I couldn't believe my eyes watching women in skirts and dresses wearing high-heeled shoes. You're going to a jungle ladies, not an afternoon tea-party. Love your site.
I have a tough time with what I see as the inherent racism, agism and sexism of the show. Minorities are under-represented, the older players are treated first with respect and then with disdain, and the women better be girlie girls or their ass is given the heave-ho! Last night was an prime example...the strong, outspoken, African American was gone without a second thought...Hard to believe.
